Our chemical peels help our patients achieve better skin tone and to remove fine lines, especially on the face.  The chemical solution removes outer layers of skin which may have been damaged by age, sun, acne, wrinkles, or pigmentation and vascular problems. With a chemical peel the body is 'motivated' to generate new skin. Chemical peels may not be appropriate for darker skin complexions.

General Procedure

There are several different types of chemical solutions that the Vein Guys can use, ranging from a mild solution to a very strong one.  During the examination, we will select what is best for you based on your expectations, skin type,  skin condition, pigmentation, and the desired end result.

During the procedure, the skin is first cleansed of dirt and oils.  A solution is then carefully applied and is allowed to remain on the skin for a short time in order to remove the layers of damaged skin.  At this point, depending on the strength of the solution, the skin may turn white and display a frost-like effect.  The skin is then neutralized and cleansed.  Finally,  individualized post-procedure products are applied to the skin to aid in healing.

Recovery Process

While complications are rare, patients can minimize potential problems by carefully following the post-operative directions and instructions given by the doctor and staff at the Vein Care Pavilion. Compliance of the post-operative instructions and the recommended skin care regimen is always stressed to achieve optimal results. Recovery time varies depending upon the extent of the chemical peel.
