Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy

Traditional sclerotherapy is used only on smaller veins. Ultrasound guided sclerotherapy is used for spider vein clusters, varicose veins and reticular veins (which are in between spider veins and varicose veins in size).

The ultrasound guides the surgeon to the exact location of the diseased vein and its tributaries. Then a solution is injected into the veins to thicken the vessels and seal off blood flow. The procedure lasts from fifteen minutes to one hour based on the extent of vein removal needs.
